Supplementary special election for the Academic Senate of AMU

Pursuant to Section 8 of Act No. 111/1998 on Higher Education Institutions and Amendments to Other Acts (the Higher Education Act) and to Article 4 Statutes of AMU and to Article 2 (1, 19) of the Election Rules of the Academic Senate of AMU, I hereby

stipulate that the election for the Academic Senate of AMU for the term of office from 2021 to 2024 shall be held on 1 and 2 March 2023.

Under clause 2(3) of the Election Rules of the Academic Senate of AMU, I appoint prof. Mgr. Václav Janeček, Ph.D., Vice-rector for Study and Education Affairs, the Chairperson of the election panel.

Election will be held by means of electronic voting. The election panel shall inform the academic community of AMU with regard to the further details including the information on the manner in which the election will be held in accordance with the Election Rules of the Academic Senate of AMU.

AS AMU has 15 members in two chambers, a teachers’ chamber and a students’ chamber. The members of the teachers’ chamber are elected from among the academic personnel of AMU. The members of the students’ chamber are elected from among AMU students. The teachers’ chamber has 9 members and the students’ chamber has 6 members. For each Faculty, 3 members are elected for the teachers’ chamber and 2 members for the students’ chamber.

Since the protocol of the electoral committee from the regular elections to the AS AMU for the Music and Dance Faculty does not contain another alternate for a vacant seat in the student chamber of AS AMU, I announce a supplementary special election, at the initiative of the AS AMU Chair.

Candidates for AS AMU in this supplementary special election may be nominated by any member of academic community of HAMU and of school-wide teaching workplaces outside the Faculty, and any member of the HAMU academic community may run for the position.

The deadline for candidate nominations is 15 February 2023. Candidate nominations should be submitted to the Chairperson of the election panel, prof. Mgr. Václav Janeček, Ph.D., in hard copy with a signature of the proponent and with a written consent of the nominee to: Malostranské náměstí 259/ 12, 118 00 Praha 1.
